PIB organizes a volunteering event to plant trees in Jericho
The Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) organized a volunteering event to plant trees in Ein El-Sultan camp in Jericho, in cooperation with the Popular Committee and the camp's authorities as part of its program for sustainable social responsibility.
The event was launched with the participation of the Jericho Branch Manager Salameh Zbeidat, branch employees, and the Head of the Popular Committee for Ein El-Sultan Camp Services, Mr. Youssef Manasra. Trees were planted in the targeted area of the camp.
The General Manager of PIB, Dr. Imad Al-Sadi said that this was one of a series of volunteering activities carried out by PIB in various regions as part of its role in the country’s development, and to promote a culture of volunteering among its employees and develop their sense of belonging to their community.
Al-Sadi indicated that PIB’s activities to plant trees in various governorates aim to increase green spaces given their importance in protecting the environment, adding: “This is part of PIB’s efforts to protect the environment, which include relying on clean energy to generate electric power in more than 15 branches and offices, replacing energy-consuming devices with energy-saving ones, adopting modern methods and environmentally friendly means of insulating buildings, in addition to reducing paper consumption in daily operations.”
It is worth noting that International Finance Magazine granted PIB the 2021 Best Bank award in the field of social responsibility, given its outstanding contributions in this field in line with the global sustainable development goals.
