Palestine Islamic Bank Sponsors a Workshop on Publishing Skills in International Scientific Journals

Within the framework of the cooperation agreement to support scientific research signed between Palestine Islamic Bank and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; the Ministry held a workshop on “Publishing Skills in World-Class Scientific Journals”, with the participation of more than 20 researchers from 10 Palestinian universities.

The workshop, which was hosted by Palestine Technical University - Khadouri, in Ramallah, was attended by Ibrahim Salman, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations at PIB, the National Authority for Quality Assurance & Accreditation of Higher Education-Related Organizations, Dr. Muammar Shteiwi and Director of Ramallah Branch at Palestine Technical University – Khadouri, Dr. Murad Awadallah.

This workshop is part of a series of workshops supported by PIB within the framework of the cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research; which included the launching of the “Palestine Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research in 2020”.

The workshop, presented by Dr. Saed Zyoud, explained the databases, the classification of scientific journals, how to select the journals with the highest evaluation that suit the researchers’ field of work, in addition to introducing open identity sites for researchers, and identifying ways to organize and manage scientific references.

Ibrahim Salman, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations, stressed the importance of this workshop in developing the skills of researchers and their ability to disseminate their scientific research in the best way; adding that achieving sustainable development is one of the Bank’s main objectives, whereas investment in scientific research is the basis for achieving such.

The Chairman of the National Authority for Quality Assurance & Accreditation of Higher Education-Related Organizations, Dr. Muammar Shteiwi thanked PIB for their continuous support of the educational sector, especially in the field of scientific research; stressing the importance of the Bank’s efforts to achieve long-term advancement in various aspects of life.

For his part, Dr. Murad Awadallah, Director of Ramallah Branch at Palestine Technical University, praised the importance of the work carried out by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the support of PIB, to develop the skills of researchers and increase the contribution of Palestine in the field of scientific research.

The Bank’s support for research activities comes within the framework of the Social Responsibility Program’s work, which is devoted to supporting the education and health sectors; with the aim of achieving a positive and sustainable impact on the surrounding community.

Moreover, the Bank’s efforts to support the educational sector are not limited to supporting educational institutions and scientific research activities only, but also to enable students to get the educational services they need through the Tuition Instalment Program compliant with the principles of Islamic Sharia’.
