Palestine Islamic Bank Signs an Agreement with “Taawon” to Establish Classrooms in Jerusalem

Islamic Bank and Al-Taawon association signed a cooperation agreement to set up two classrooms in Noor Al-Quds School, located at the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The agreement was signed at the Bank’s headquarters in Al Masyoun, by each of the General Manager of the Bank, Bayan Qasem, and the Director General of Al-Taawon association, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi, in the presence of the Bank’s Deputy General Manager, Imad Al-Sadi, the Assistant General Manager for Planning and Development, Asem Masri, the Assistant General Manager for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Rami Taha, and the Financial Department Manager, Ahmad Shehadeh. Amongst Al-Taawon association, the signing of the agreement was attended by the Education Program Manager, Mr. Anwar Abu Ammash, and the Manager of Foreign Funding Unit, Mrs. Naela Handoush.

The General Manager of Palestine Islamic Bank, Bayan Qasem, affirmed the Bank’s concern to support the sector of education, particularly in Jerusalem City, saying that “the Holy City faces many challenges, thus, we attempt to offer whatever that shall strengthen the resilience of its community so as to preserve the Arab Palestinian identity of the city.”

Moreover, Qasem indicated that the concern of the educational process lays at the core of the Bank’s interests, due to the Bank’s firm belief that nation and economy building starts with building humans, considering the investment in education and students as the best way to develop humans and society.

Qasem also praised the Taawon association for its outstanding efforts paid in the advancement of the Palestinian society on the levels of relief and development, indicating that such agreement comes within the context of strategic and ongoing cooperation among both institutions, which has previously led to the implementation of several relief, employment and other programs.

In addition, Qasem pointed out that Palestine Islamic Bank doesn’t limit itself to offering material and moral support so as to help the educational process to continue, nonetheless, it offered “the payment of tuition fee in installments” program, which allows the public to have access to the services of a large number of schools and universities, in addition to paying their tuition fees in installments at the original rate, without any increase, and hence, paying such fees on facilitated installment terms which commensurate with the available potentials.

On her part, Dr. Tafeeda Jarbawi thanked Palestine Islamic Bank for its constant support and keenness to offer support and aid to Palestinians, through entering into strategic partnership with Al-Taawon association, stressing her pride in cooperating with the donor and implementing partners and their constructive role in strengthening the resilience of Palestinian people. Furthermore, she highlighted the efforts of “Taawon” in providing support to Jerusalemites in the sectors of education, reconstruction of the old city and culture. Dr. Jarbawi also demonstrated the importance of cooperation between Palestine Islamic Bank and “Taawon”, whereby such cooperation was represented, over the past years, in supporting several development and relief projects in Palestine, she also underlined the concern of “Taawon” that the support provided reaches its intended beneficiaries and achieves the desired goals.

The agreement signed between Palestine Islamic Bank and “Taawon” stipulates that two classrooms at Noor Al-Quds School shall be built and equipped, for the benefit of at least 50 students, whereas such classrooms will enable them to complete the preparatory level in the school, the thing which adds to and improves the quality of education in the Holy City.
