Palestine Islamic Bank is the First Bank in Palestine to Verify its Facebook Page

As part of its digital transformation strategy and the promotion of its e-services, the Palestine Islamic Bank (“PIB”) has successfully completed the verification procedures for its Facebook page, making it the first bank in Palestine to do so. This step is part of PIB’s strategic plan to improve the customer experience and overall quality of its services, by increasing the dependency on technology to open unconventional service channels for Islamic banking, especially through social media.

The verification mark (blue check mark) means that Facebook has verified the page as an official and credible page representing its owner, whether the owner is a company or person, and that the verified page can be trusted. It is worth noting that Facebook has halted the verification process on numerous pages across the Middle East, North Africa and parts of Europe. However, after persistent efforts and extended communications with Facebook, PIB was able to complete the verification of its Facebook page.

Moreover, PIB is the first Palestinian bank to launch the “Islami Auto” service, which is a service that enables PIB’s customers to access their accounts directly and safely when using Facebook. Additionally, PIB considers the verification of its Facebook Page a significant milestone that will increase the security of its customers’ data and the safeguarding of their privacy.

Furthermore, PIB confirms that there are various e-channels that are available to its customers, whether they are accessing the web on their laptop or via their smart phones. Individuals are able to perform most banking transactions utilizing “Islami Online” and “Islami Mobile”. PIB customers can quickly and efficiently execute local and international wire transfers, view account balances and transactions, request cheque books, as well as pay their credit cards and invoices to numerous companies, organizations and municipalities.

PIB is the leading Islamic financial institution in Palestine with a clear strategic vision in the shariah financing and investment arena. It has been a first mover in bringing innovative shariah-compliant financial products to its retail and corporate customers. PIB has the largest Islamic banking services network in Palestine, consisting of 43 branches and offices and over 79 ATM machines distributed across the country.
