PIB Obtains the “Best bank for providing Islamic banking services and products in Palestine ” Award for 2022

The Arab Bankers Association and “The Banking Executive” magazine granted the Palestine Islamic Bank the “Best Islamic Bank in Palestine” Award for 2022 for providing Sharia-compliant banking services and products.

The Award was granted during the 2022 Awards for Excellence and Achievements in Banking ceremony held in Istanbul and attended by Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, General Manager of PIB, in addition to other Arab bankers, representatives of supervisory bodies, and Turkish, regional, and international personalities, including His Excellency, Dr. Firas Melhem, Governor of the Palestine Monetary Authority.

Al-Sadi stated that PIB takes pride in its annual nomination for many awards by prominent regional and international organizations and magazines. He noted that such nominations are the fruit of the achievements realized by the bank in terms of many Islamic banking aspects contributing to offering excellent services to clients and promoting Islamic banking in Palestine.

He added: “This honor and recognition would not have been possible if it were not for the sound planning and aspirations of our Board of Directors chaired by Mr. Maher Masri, and the good implementation and innovation of the Bank’s employees to whom we dedicate this achievement. This accomplishment surely makes us more responsible for offering innovative and advanced Sharia-compliant banking services, and we thus, seek Allah the Almighty to guide us in maintaining our client’s confidence and trust in us.”

Al-Sadi noted that the Bank is constantly thriving toward developing banking services and products that meet the needs of its clients. It also seeks to diversify its offered financing solutions and establish partnerships with local and foreign organizations as to create new Islamic banking products. He stated: “The Bank offers its banking services to its clients round the clock through various digital channels. Over the course of this year, an e-services package was developed and the e-payment network was expanded. Furthermore, World Mastercard and Platinum Mastercard, being the first credit cards of such kind in Palestine, were launched, and the ATM network was upgraded through installing new machines featuring advanced services specifically designed for PIB.”

Al-Sadi also noted that the Bank has been granted this award a few days after holding a strategic retreat for 2023 - 2026 which discussed PIB’s plans and direction for the years to come, including pioneering with digitization, promoting internal and external partnerships for creating new Islamic banking products, and achieving service quality and customer service management excellence.”

On another note, Al-Sadi stated that the Bank is working on enhancing its contributions within the field of sustainable social responsibility through establishing organizational partnerships with many entities and executing sustainable projects through these partnerships, namely within the health and education sectors, being essential sectors for achieving sustainable development.
