PIB organizes a seminar to raise awareness of Islamic financing and banking services in cooperation with the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) organized a seminar to raise awareness of Islamic financing and banking services, in cooperation with the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry as part of PIB’s efforts to raise awareness towards banking services in general and Islamic banking in particular.
The seminar was held in the presence of the President of Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Waleed Al Hosri, a number of the Chamber’s Board members and management, traders and businessmen in Gaza. PIB was represented by the Gaza Area Manager Adnan Al Fleet, and Sharia Supervisory Board member Dr. Maher Al Hawly in addition to a number of branch and officer managers.
Al Hosri opened the seminar by welcoming the attendees and stressing the importance of introducing traders and businessmen to Islamic financing tools and banking services in general, given the importance of this in facilitating and accelerating the completion of their banking transactions and the development of their business.
On his part, Al Fleet said that this seminar comes as part of PIB’s efforts to promote awareness of Islamic banking and banking services among the various segments of society, particularly merchants and businessmen who are interested in advanced banking services and products that help them develop their business and investments. Al Fleet also thanked the Gaza Chamber of Commerce and Industry for hosting this seminar, stressing the bank's interest in strengthening its partnership with it.
Dr. Maher Al Hawli, member of the PIB Sharia Supervisory Board, explained Islamic financing tools and the role and mandate of the Sharia Supervisory Board in guiding the works and activities of the Bank and ensuring their compliance with Islamic Sharia provisions and controls in addition to international references in Islamic Finance.
The Manager of the Al Nasr Branch Nivine Al Arkane gave a presentation on PIB’s e-services, its Sharia compliant Platinum Mastercard and World Mastercard, and the privileges they offer to clients, in addition to showcasing other services and products offered by PIB.
During the seminar, PIB’s representatives responded to a number of questions by participants which mainly focused on e-payment solutions and services provided by the bank for businessmen, in addition to PIB’s efforts in supporting the implementation of sustainable development goals.
PIB organizes regular meetings and seminars as part of its efforts to raise awareness of Islamic banking and banking services in general. This aims at clarifying these various concepts to the public and promoting financial inclusion in Palestine.
