PIB organizes a seminar to raise awareness of Islamic financing and banking services in cooperation with the Nablus Businessmen Forum

The Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) organized a seminar to raise awareness of Islamic financing and banking services, in cooperation with the Businessmen Forum in Nablus. This is part of PIB’s efforts to raise awareness of banking services in general and Islamic banking in particular.

The seminar was attended by the President of the Businessmen Forum in Nablus, Mr. Abdul Raouf Hawash, the Grand Mufti of Nablus, His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Shobash, and a number of businessmen. PIB General Manager, Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, the Chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board, Dr. Alaa Razia, the Assistant Director-General for Branches, Zayed Shukair, the director of the Northern District, Khitam Abu Aita, and a number of directors of PIB’s departments and branches were also in attendance.

PIB General Manager Dr. Imad Al-Sadi welcomed the participants and stressed the bank's constant efforts to raise awareness of Islamic banking, especially among businessmen, the backbone of the Palestinian economy.

Al-Sadi expressed his thanks to the Businessmen Forum in Nablus for hosting the seminar. He reaffirmed PIB’s continuing efforts to strengthen that partnership and ensure the best banking services to businessmen.

The head of the PIB Sharia Supervisory Board, Dr. Alaa Razia, gave a presentation explaining Islamic financing formulas and Shariah controls for Islamic transactions. He explained the role of the Board in ensuring that all bank transactions comply with the Islamic Sharia provisions and controls.

The Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Ibrahim Salman, presented PIB’s Sharia-compliant electronic services, the World Mastercard and Platinum Mastercard, and the services and privileges provided to clients. He also introduced other prominent products and services.

During the seminar, PIB’s representatives responded to a number of questions by the participants on Islamic banking in general, and the bank’s services and products. They explained the role played by the bank in supporting the implementation of the sustainable development goals.

PIB organizes regular meetings and seminars as part of its efforts to raise awareness of Islamic banking and banking services in general. This aims at clarifying these various concepts to the public and promoting financial inclusion in Palestine.
