The Central Blood Bank Honors Palestine Islamic Bank
The Central Blood Bank “ CBBS” of the Ministry of Health honored Palestine Islamic Bank for its continuous support of blood transfusion services, within the framework of sustainable social responsibility program.
This occurred during a reception offered by PIB General Manager, Imad Alsadi, to the Director General of Supportive Medical Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Osama al-Najjar, in the presence of the CBBS’s Manager, Dr. Kafa al-Rimawi, PIB Assistant General Manager for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Rami Taha, and the Human Resources Manager, Wafaa Odeh, at the headquarters of the General Administration of the Bank in Ramallah.
During the reception, Alsadi stressed the strategic partnership and cooperation relationship which links the Bank to the health sector, underlying that dozens of health institutions have been provided with support since the beginning of the year, in order to help such institutions in providing the best possible level of service to citizens.
Alsadi also added: “every year, we are keen that the health sector makes the most benefit of the Bank’s sustainable social responsibility program, and during the last two years, we doubled such support due to the difficult health conditions imposed by Covid-19 pandemic, which requires concerted efforts to overcome it.”
Furthermore, Alsadi praised the CBBS’s achievements, activities and successful campaigns which ensure permanent availability of sufficient and safe supply of different blood types, which is crucial for safeguarding citizens’ lives.
On his part, al-Najjar extended his thanks to PIB for its continuous support of the CBBS and other health institutions, noting the importance of roles integration among private and public sectors to improve the services provided to citizens and support the development and building process especially in the health field, which is considered as the most important element of life necessities in any country.
Al-Najjar also called on citizens to periodically donate blood, as it has health benefits and considered as a noble humanitarian action that would safeguard other citizens’ lives. At the same time, he thanked blood donors who collect about one hundred thousand blood units annually.
PIB devotes the major part of its social responsibility program to support the health and education sectors, which form vital sectors and significant part of the universal sustainable development goals that constitute the overall framework of the Bank’s social responsibility policy.
