PIB organizes a volunteering activity in Qalqilya
The Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) organized a volunteering activity in the town of Kafr Thulth in the Qalqilya Governorate, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kafr Thulth, within the framework of the Bank's program for sustainable social responsibility and on the occasion of the World Environment Day.
The event was launched with the participation of the Mayor of Kafr Thulth Abdul Latif Mara’bah and a number of municipal employees. Attending from PIB’s side were the Qalqilya branch manager, Majed Kharoub, and the branch’s employees. A tree planting activity was carried out at the main entrance to the town, in addition to cleaning work for nearby streets.
The event also included a tour for the participants in the archaeological areas of the town, in the presence of a tour guide who explained its historical importance.
This activity comes within the framework of PIB’s efforts to preserve the environment by increasing green spaces. These efforts also include relying on clean energy systems to generate electricity, adopting modern and environmentally friendly building insulation methods, reducing paper use in daily operations and other measures aimed at preserving the environment.
Within the framework of its sustainable social responsibility program, the Bank regularly organizes community activities that enhance the culture of volunteering among employees and their sense of belonging to the community in a way that serves to support the achievement of sustainable development goals.
It is noteworthy that in 2021, PIB obtained the award for best bank in the field of social responsibility by the International Finance Magazine, given its distinguished contributions in this field in line with the global sustainable development goals.
