PIB Provides Urgent Humanitarian Aid to Displaced Families in Gaza

Palestine Islamic Bank (PIB) has delivered urgent humanitarian aid to hundreds of displaced families across various areas of the Gaza Strip, as part of its ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people amid the dire conditions caused by the war, which has led to a humanitarian catastrophe and a severe shortage of food and essential supplies.

This aid, consisting of vegetable baskets distributed to each beneficiary family, was provided in cooperation with Juzoor For Health & Social Development, which handled supplier coordination and assisted in distribution.

Dr. Imad Al-Sadi, General Manager of PIB, stated that supporting the Palestinian people and strengthening their resilience in these difficult circumstances is both a national and humanitarian duty. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the bank’s values, goals, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy.

He added: “This contribution is part of the PIB’s broader efforts to support our people in Gaza, as they experience extremely difficult living conditions and a severe lack of basic needs. It is essential that all institutions and organizations at the national level join efforts to alleviate this suffering.”

Al-Sadi also highlighted that the bank annually supports dozens of institutions in vital sectors through its sustainable CSR program, and that under the current conditions, it is placing special emphasis on assisting the people of Gaza, who lack the basic survival necessities.

Dr. Umaiyeh Khammash, Executive Director of the Juzoor Foundation, commended PIB’s sustainable CSR policy, based on a participatory relationship with Palestinian society. The bank seeks to support economic and social development by providing the right tools for human development, it also allocates part of its annual profits to support the education and health sectors, as well as charitable organizations—particularly those serving orphans, the elderly, people with disabilities, and other underprivileged groups.

Dr. Yehia Abed, Director of Juzoor Office in Gaza, also expressed his gratitude to PIB for this valuable initiative undertaken in such difficult times, particularly with the growing threat of famine. He noted that 900 poor Palestinian families were selected to receive food assistance, stressing that “providing relief to our people in Gaza is of utmost importance and has a profoundly positive impact on the spirits of the population.” He added that such initiatives reflect solidarity and cooperation among institutions and bring hope to many amid the ongoing crisis in the region.

PIB’s sustainable CSR policy affirms its commitment to contributing to development efforts, playing an active role in community service, providing relief to the Palestinian people, improving their living conditions, and reinforcing their resilience during these trying times—all in alignment with the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
