Palestine Islamic Bank Concludes “Spread a Smile” Campaign for 2017
Palestine Islamic Bank have concluded “Spread a Smile” campaign for the year 2017, the target of the campaign was dedicated to collecting in-kind donations from the Bank’s employees and the individual social responsibility among them in addition to enhancing their attachment with the community. The employees took part in the campaign through communicating with families in need and charities in their communities, the total value of the in-kind donations presented by the employees topped USD 25,000 and it included; clothes, covers, toys and other needs.
Palestine Islamic Bank have launched ‘Spread a Smile” campaign among its employees on three phases, the first was in Ramadan when employees donated eid requirements and clothes for needy families and charities that look after orphans and children in need across the country.
The second phase manifested in a campaign under the title “Eid Toy” which introduced joy and happiness to the hearts of hundreds of children, the toys that were given to them during Eid Al-Adha. The phase “Warm Winter” was a campaign that aimed to collect winter clothes, covers, and space heaters; the campaign was dedicated specifically to families in-need.
Mr. Bayan Qasem, General Manager of Palestine Islamic Bank said that the bank is aspiring to enhance the spirit of giving and donating among the employees by encouraging them to participate in the different voluntary activities the bank organizes similar to “Spread a Smile” campaign, he pointed to other initiatives that are led by the bank’s employees, such as “Home Trails”, an initiative that pays attention to historical and archaeological sites in Palestine, and also aims to enhance the national belonging and identity. Among other volunteering social activities that have been executed over the year, like; organize visits to elderly homes, visit patients in hospitals, in addition to organizing group Iftars during Ramadan with people in-need.
Mr. Qasem pointed that PIB considers the human power an important asset and a capital that must be developed and taken care of, improve and their skills and expertise, in addition to enhancing the spirit of cooperation and giving in a way that would reflect on an improved quality of performance in order to present a sophisticated service to our clients, considering the PIB and its staff have an important role to carry within their social incubator.
Mr. Qasem asserted that PIB commitment to this path is an integral part of the bank’s strategic plan that aims to enhance the bank’s relationship as an institution and the bank’s staff with their surroundings, and to create an important communication channel between the institution and the community through connecting them with each other and their essential needs, he pointed that PIB will work during 2018 on developing this initiative and improving it internally in a way that touches segments in the society that are in more need.
