As part of its commitment to its developmental role and responsibility toward society, the Bank continued to implement its corporate social responsibility strategy, which stems from its institutional values and its vision of achieving sustainable impact. This strategy focused on supporting vital sectors, notably education, health, and relief, based on the Bank’s belief that investing in people is the foundation for building a cohesive society capable of facing challenges. This is pursued through qualitative initiatives and effective partnerships aimed at contributing to improving quality of life and enhancing social solidarity, in line with the PIB’s community and development priorities.
This commitment falls within the Bank’s strategic objectives as set out in its 2023–2026 strategic plan, in alignment with the objectives of Islamic Sharia, which encourage helping others, as reflected in the Bank’s allocation of part of its net profits to its sustainable corporate social responsibility program.
During 2025, the PIB implemented numerous projects and strategic partnerships, with a strong focus on education and relief in light of the current political conditions, in addition to supporting institutions and entities concerned with health, child welfare, and the care of the elderly and orphans across the various governorates of the country, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable development.
Education
In the education sector, the Bank provided support for the establishment of a school in the Gaza Strip, under the full supervision of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, where it will be equipped with all the necessary supplies and educational tools to provide a safe learning environment. This support comes in light of the extensive damage suffered by the education sector in Gaza over the past two years and forms part of a series of interventions undertaken by the Bank to assist and support the Palestinian people in Gaza, whether in the field of relief or in support of other sectors.
The Bank also supported the “Emergency Education” project in cooperation with SOS Children’s Villages in the Gaza Strip, under which it will cover the educational costs of 200 students, as part of the essential efforts and interventions aimed at advancing the education sector in Gaza.
In addition, the Bank supported three schools in Jerusalem Governorate as a contribution to supporting and strengthening the educational process and addressing challenges, particularly under the current circumstances.
Orphan and Elderly Care
PIB provided support to eight entities concerned with the care of orphans and the elderly across different governorates of the country. The support provided varied between financial assistance and in-kind support, with the aim of enabling these institutions and helping them continue delivering their services to the fullest extent.
Health
The health sector occupies a high priority within the Bank’s sustainable corporate social responsibility program, given its importance and necessity for achieving sustainable development. During 2025, the Bank provided support to four entities delivering healthcare services, in addition to supporting services for the care of persons with disabilities, thereby contributing to enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens.
Relief
In light of the exceptional circumstances facing a number of governorates, the Bank intensified its relief interventions in response to urgent humanitarian needs in Tulkarm, Jenin, Nablus, and the Gaza Strip. These interventions focused on providing urgent relief assistance to affected families, including food aid, medical support, and other essential forms of assistance, in cooperation with local institutions and active partners.
This role stems from the Bank’s sense of national and humanitarian responsibility and its commitment to standing by the Palestinian people in times of hardship and alleviating the burdens imposed by the current circumstances.
Volunteer Work
PIB is keen to promote a culture of volunteerism among its employees, given its importance in strengthening their sense of belonging to their community. During 2025, many of the Bank’s employees volunteered in service of their community in cooperation with local institutions and bodies. PIB employees participated in a campaign to clean and embellish the streets of Beitunia, which included painting sidewalks and cleaning streets. They also took part in programs implemented in partnership with INJAZ Palestine, through which volunteer employees contribute to enhancing the knowledge and skills of school students in various fields.
Renewed commitment to the principles of the United Nations Charter
PIB renewed its commitment to the principles of the UN Charter by publishing its annual report in a row showing the responsible and sustainable policies it adopts in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and combating corruption.

It is worth mentioning that PIB submits an annual report confirming its commitment to working on implementing policies related to the ten principles and explaining the most prominent practices it applies in this context.
Since 2014, PIB has increasingly relied on clean energy sources to power its operations. This stems from its commitment to preserve and protect the environment, in compliance with the verse, "And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him with fear and hope. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good." [Al-A'raf: 56] The impact of its environmental interventions in one year was equivalent to planting 500 acres of trees (2,100 dunams).
PIB is committed to environmental conservation through six main axes:
The solar energy system at these sites has generated a daily average of 1.4 megawatts of electricity, equivalent to 520 megawatts of electricity annually. This helps in providing a suitable environment free of carbon dioxide that generators emit. The estimated annual emissions of harmful gases avoided by using alternative energy are as follows:
PIB has plans to maximize its reliance on clean energy and increase its production through innovative methods that contribute to environmental protection. In 2025, it joined the list of friendly institutions of the Palestinian Higher Council for Green Buildings, thanks to its environmentally friendly policies and procedures. Most recently, it built the Central Archives Building, which relies entirely on solar energy for electricity.
